Quorn Arts & Crafts Festive Trail
The Refectory Table took part in a craft fair the other week. I was originally just going to advertise in the event leaflet – but then Pete and I decided we’d like to take a stall too.
The Quorn Arts & Crafts Festive Trail was created and run by Lindsey Watson, Yoga tutor and Rachel White, Consultant. They pulled together a team of sponsors, venues, volunteer stewards and a range of stallholders – in a matter of weeks.
Our stall was in the Library at Quorn Country Hotel, along with people selling great paintings, jewellery and ceramics. We sold Pete’s book ‘Make Your Creativity Pay’ and had information about our creative business courses. I made some pocket money priced items to entice people to our stall, peg dolls. They went down very well!
Over 270 people visited the trail, which as well as being a selling event was a charitable fundraiser – a percentage of proceeds amounting to £1400 was raised which has gone to Macmillan Cancer Support and The Bridge, a local homelessness charity.
So – will Lindsey and Rachel be doing this again? Yes, next year the trail will be on Sunday 1st December 2013. It was a thoroughly enjoyable day with a fantastic feel to it so we certainly hope to be there again!
You can read more about the peg dolls, and find their Folksy shop – here.
